1. Who We Are

These terms govern your use of services provided by Haj Tech. Services are provided by Haj Tech, a trading name operated by an individual based in Lancashire, UK.

By engaging our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with an order.

2. Services

Haj Tech provides the following services:

• Free Security Check (free, one-off) — an external check of your website, domain and email setup, with a short plain-English report. No software is installed and no access to your systems is required.
• Security Monitoring (from £49/month) — ongoing external monitoring of the same, with alerts when something meaningful changes, plain-English reports, and help understanding and fixing the important issues.

All quotes are provided in writing before work begins and are fixed at the quoted price unless the scope of work changes with your agreement.

3. Payment Terms

Free Security Check

The Free Security Check is provided free of charge. There is no payment, no obligation and no automatic subscription: if you want ongoing monitoring afterwards, you choose to order it separately.

Monthly subscriptions

Security Monitoring is billed monthly in advance. Payment arrangements are confirmed with you in writing before your subscription begins.

Cancellation of subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time with 30 days’ written notice to [email protected]. You will continue to receive service until the end of the notice period. No refund is made for the notice period.

4. Security Testing Authorisation

Free Security Check

The Free Security Check is passive and external. It reads only information that is already publicly available, such as your domain’s DNS records and the responses your website gives to ordinary web requests. It does not access, log into, scan inside, or change any of your systems.

No signed authorisation letter is needed for the Free Security Check. By submitting our contact form, or by replying to us by email, to request a check, you confirm that you own the domain you have asked us to check, or that you have authority to request a check of it.

Security Monitoring and other paid work

Security Monitoring, and any other paid or more in-depth work, is performed only on systems that the client owns or controls and only after the client has provided written authorisation in the form of a signed authorisation letter supplied by Haj Tech before the work begins.

By ordering Security Monitoring or other paid work, you warrant that:

• you are the owner or authorised administrator of the systems to be assessed; and
• you have the authority to grant Haj Tech permission to assess those systems.

Haj Tech will not begin Security Monitoring or other paid work without a countersigned authorisation letter.

For any service, if you provide false or misleading information about your ownership or authority, you accept full legal responsibility for any consequences.

5. Scope and Limitations

Reports and assessments delivered by Haj Tech reflect the condition of your systems at the time of assessment. Security is not a static state; new vulnerabilities emerge continuously, and Haj Tech makes no guarantee that systems will remain secure after the date of assessment.

The Free Security Check and Security Monitoring are external, non-intrusive checks of publicly visible information. They are not a penetration test and do not guarantee identification of all security issues.

No service provided by Haj Tech constitutes legal, regulatory, or professional advice. Reports and deliverables are provided for informational purposes only.

You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on any recommendation in a report. Haj Tech is not liable for the outcome of actions you take, or choose not to take, based on our findings.

6. Delivery

Delivery timescales are stated per service and begin once you have provided all required information and authorisation, and, for paid services, once payment is confirmed. Haj Tech will notify you promptly if any delay is anticipated.

7. Consumer Cancellation Rights

If you are a consumer (an individual acting outside your trade, business, craft or profession), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of placing it under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, without giving a reason.

If you request that work begins during the 14-day cancellation period and you subsequently cancel, you will be charged for the proportion of the service completed up to the point of cancellation. If the service is fully completed during the 14-day period at your request, you lose your right to cancel.

Businesses and sole traders engaging Haj Tech services in connection with their trade or business do not benefit from these consumer cancellation rights.

8. Intellectual Property

Upon receipt of full payment, you receive full rights to use the reports and other deliverables produced for you for your own business purposes.

Haj Tech retains ownership of general methodologies, tooling, and non-client-specific code used in producing deliverables. We may reuse these in future projects.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haj Tech’s total liability to you in connection with any service shall be limited to the fees paid by you to Haj Tech in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Haj Tech shall not be liable for any:

• indirect, consequential, incidental or special loss;
• loss of profits, revenue, data or business;
• loss arising from reliance on reports or deliverables by third parties.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits Haj Tech’s liability for: fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; death or personal injury caused by negligence; or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Data and Privacy

Haj Tech processes your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version applying to your order is the version in force at the time you place that order. We will notify existing subscription customers of material changes with at least 30 days’ notice.
